Founded in 1972 the national flag carrier of Bangladesh, the Biman Bangladesh air carrier operates both cargo as well as scheduled passenger flights. Its main hub is located at Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka. Moreover, it also operates flights from its two secondary hubs that are Shah Amanat International airport and Osmani International Airport.

With a fleet size of 10 aircrafts the Biman Bangladesh airline connects to 21 destinations all around the world. It is headquartered at Balaka Bhaban, Kurmitola, Dhaka 1229 in Bangladesh. As of FY 2012-13, the net income generated by this airline was BDT- 2 billion. There are four subsidiaries of Biman Airlines, Bangladesh Airlines training center, Biman Ground handling, Biman Poultry complex and Biman Flight catring center.

The Biman Bangladesh airline’s fleet comprises of very modern and efficient aircrafts. The fleet comprises of Airbus A310-300, Boeing 737-800, Boeing 777-200ER, Boeing 777-300ER and Boeing 787-8. When talking about performance one needs to keep in mind that Biman Bangladesh is prone to delays and disruptions to the flight schedules. In the year 2013 this airline got into agreements with Mercator and SITA for providing infrastructure support and services related to revenue accounting to this airline.
